We do help practice members recover from pain and injury, yet there is so much more to the Chiropractic Adjustment, the Keystone of Our Approach.  It is important to understand:

  • There is nothing in your living experience that is perceived and acted upon that is not under the control of your nervous system.
  • Your nervous system not only controls every movement you make voluntarily, it coordinates all biochemical and biomechanical functions in your body through both linear and non-linear means.
  • In addition, it is the vital link between You, the Observer of Your Existence, and Your Body, by which you Manifest Your Ambitions and Goals.
  • Your nervous system, just like the rest of your body, is subject to limitations of time and matter; as such it can be compromised when the body is overwhelmed by physical, emotional or chemical stresses.
  • This maladaptation and compromise of neural impulses, cerebral spinal fluid flow and blood supply is called a vertebral subluxation.
  • Subluxations do occur in extraspinal joints such as shoulder and elbow, and this misalignment, as small as it may be, is enough to impair efficient function and cause muscle weakness.
  • Active Balance Spine and Sports Care specifically corrects these subluxations to remove interference in neural impulses and restore communication on multiple levels. This is our Keystone.

Like other healthy lifestyle habits, the benefits of routine chiropractic care are cumulative. Common benefits of routine chiropractic care:

  • Improved nervous system communication
  • Improved joint motion, balance and coordination
  • Increased body function and performance
  • Improved posture

When subluxations or muscle dysfunction have been the cause, Chiropractic care has helped practice members with many conditions.

In 1895, the founder of chiropractic, DD Palmer, was in the healing arts of the time.  A building janitor where he worked, Harvey Lillard,  explained after bending over 17 years earlier, he heard a pop in his neck and became deaf.  DD examined his neck, noticed an asymmetrical bump in his neck, hit it back toward center and Harvey’s hearing was restored.  As you can imagine, they thought they discovered a cure for deafness, which of course was not the case.  As they began mapping the vertebral subluxations, they could correlate these with spinal nerves that relay information to and from the brain about conditions.  In some cases where the nerve was compromised, other illnesses and dysfunction cleared up. Some examples of include:

  • Arthritis
  • BPPV
  • Bursitis
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Disc Pain
  • Elbow Pain
  • Emotional Well-being

We utilize gentle, low-force adjustment techniques

Dr. Robin Linster has found that her adjusting style must match her practice member’s individual needs.  A low force technique allows for her to adjust those with osteoporosis, cardiovascular issues, infants and toddlers, pregnant moms or those that just want a gentler, ‘non-crack’ spinal adjustment.   Dr. Robin holds an advanced proficiency rating in the Activator Method system, the leading low force technique.  The Activator method utilizes a hand-held device designed for speed and focus that applies significantly lower impact adjustments to the spine and other joints as well.
